This position will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations of the pro shop.
Assist Director of Golf and First Assistant daily on given tasks.
Key duties/responsibilities of the Pro Shop Staff Member:
Essential Duties:
Promote the game of golf and facility programs to all guests who visit San Juan Oaks.
Always engage members and guests when they walk into the golf shop in an appropriate and prompt manner.
Checking in guests daily.
Answering phones quickly and making tee time reservations.
Ensuring both members, guests & employees are adhering to golf course rules, polices, and procedures.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Ensure that standard operating procedures are being followed (SOP's) Possess a thorough understanding of overall golf operations.
Keep pro shop neat and clean.
Open, close, and work mid shifts when required in the golf shop.
Perform daily shop procedures, i.
e.
checking in guests, answering telephones, making tee time reservations, opening, and closing registers.
Sell golf merchandise and up sell as much as possible.
Oversee all golf operations in the absence of managers.
Assist in enforcing all San Juan Oaks course rules including, but not limited to golf carts, soft spikes and smoking.
Perform daily duties as prescribed by Director of Golf or Assistant Manager.
Assist Guests while on the course.
Maintain Communication with starter for pace of play policy.
Be accountable for all transactions utilizing the Point-of-Sale System (Club Caddie) Always maintain a professional appearance.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Requirements:
Previous experience at a golf course, golf club or related hospitality environment Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, talks and hears.
Frequently uses hands.
Regularly reaches with arms and hands.
Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches.
Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions; may come into contact with fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
Valid Driver's License Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
Fluent in English speaking, writing, and understanding.
Strong ability to multitask.
Strong communication skills Strong customer service skills, with ability to interact with members in a professional manner, demonstrating courtesy, tact, and good judgment at all times.
Must be able to convey facility policy/procedures accurately and fairly.
Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of outside golf operations and service.
Ability to operate a golf cart safely.
