Director, Distribution Center Operations

The Director of Distribution Center Operations is a key member of our leadership team who manages facility safety, facility maintenance, legal compliance, warehousing, in-bound product receiving, product put-a-way, product selection, packaging, shipping, and returns.  The Director of Distribution Center Operations is responsible for achieving distribution center associate development and service level objectives within budgetary constraints. To achieve these goals, this leader designs strategies and executes plans to meet our short and long term supply chain, production, and control requirements. Success in this role requires the ability to implement industry best practices, drive efficiency, continuous improvement, and cost reductions.  This position reports to the Divisional Vice President, Distribution & Transportation. Responsibilities: Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the DC to meet and exceed business plan. Responsible for the overall performance of the Distribution Center including; safety, quality, and performance of Inbound and Outbound operations. Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds Ops Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments. Recruits, coaches and leads a team of Operations and Area Managers to ensure performance objectives are met. Leverages the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area. Builds positive employee relations and leadership bench strength. Manage relationships with key business partners to meet high levels of customer service. Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network. Leads support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives. Maintain operational integrity, open communication channels, and resolve issues effectively and promptly. Build and maintain a positive, collaborative relationship between other departments, external partners, and customers in order to maximize service while managing inventory efficiently. Drive compliance with safety, OSHA and hazardous materials compliance programs. Implements Lean Manufacturing concepts and techniques. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related work experience.  5+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment. Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques. Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations. Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations. Experience building world class teams. Comfortable with public speaking and delivering presentations. Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills with an ability to adapt to changing priorities. High degree of attention to detail and accuracy. Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide others in the implementation of corporate policies and procedures. Ability to recognize and reward the success of other team members. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
